Kawaii Heart Shaped Ring Light Review. SPOILER ALERT: I'm still not a model!

Suuuuuper cute and bright heart shaped selfie ring light has really improved my photo skills! I wouldn't say it if it wasn't true, as I don't want to recommend a product that I'm disappointed in.

The only issue I have is how narrow it opens but it does seem to fit my Kindle Fire easily, though that's without a case. The heart ring light absolutely will NOT fit over the heavy duty Otter Box type case that I prefer. Guess it's time to buy a new slim case, huh?

I was looking for a soft LED light for selfies and general product photos and this ring light is really best for arms length selfies and maybe macro. I need to invest in an actual photography light on a stand, *sigh* It won't give you the superglam halo effect, that has to be achieved with an actual professional photography ring light and those run about $60+ with limited portability. I just touch up my photos and add a catch light to my eyes for the same effect plus I can smooth out my *ugh* adult acne.

Here's a low level lighting selfie WITHOUT the ring light, taken on my Kindle 8 HD.

Here's the same lighting using the heart shaped selfie ring. Really big bright difference, I'd say!
The light ring has a cool light and a warm light with both a bright and low setting for each as well as a blend of the two and a strobing flash mode the instructions refer to as an SOS. Yeah, I often feel the need for a SOS when taking selfies. :C
For about $10, this is a fun purchase. The mirror on the back is cute and it seems sturdy enough to carry in your purse. The light charges with included USB cord, so no worrying about batteries.

Kawaii Squishy Booger Fidget Animals For All!

Behold the latest toy craze for adults and kids alike who need something sensory to do with their hands.

Gummy but not sticky, these wee critters are so pleasant to pinch and pull and hide in your palm which makes them great for kiddos with autism or a discreet fidgeting soother.

Tiny super squishy jelly animals are the fidget toy of 2018! I'm not sure what these are made of, maybe silicone based?

They're super stretchy and gummy and have a really pleasant feel to them when you pinch and roll them in your hands. Best for older kids, like five and up or whatever age is beyond wanting to stick them in their mouths.

This collection has several cats, a bunny, a tiger, a duckling, a seal, a polar bear, a koala and a panda. Each little cute animal is individually wrapped in a resealable bag so you can hand them out as rewards for kids or as stocking stuffers or gift toppers or whatever.

They're under a dollar each and so far have withstood a few days of intense rubbing, though they do need to be rinsed off once in a while if they get grubby or dusty or covered in carpet lint.

Errrmergerd, so tiny. So loud. Like my Boston Terrier.

This teeny weeny Bluetooth speaker works with both of my Galaxy phones (4s and 6) as well as with my Kindle Fire HD tablet. I've listened to music, audio books and podcasts using this bullet type speaker without any sound quality issues.

As shown in the video, there seems to be some issues with lag as The Cult video is really several seconds off when watching his lips. I'm sure this can be corrected, which I'll need to look into as I'd like to use this tiny speaker hooked up to my HD TV in my living room to make it a but quieter at night when I watch TV.

My Boston Terrier HATES this speaker although he's never reacted to my phone or laptop or desktop so I guess it sounds super realistic to him? You can also pause then play the music/podcast media using the button on the bottom of the speaker, which is helpful when I'm in another room far away from my device.

Charges with USB, power lasts for hours and turns itself off when not in use. Instructions show you how to use it as a selfie timer as well. Quite a value for the small cost! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GR46AVU

Pet Safe Heating Pad For This Crazy Cold Houston Winter!

This is one of the coldest Houston Christmases that I can remember. It's been at or below freezing at night and barely above freezing during the days, and super dark and just gross. My Boston Terrier is sleeping a lot more than usual and we aren't spending as much time outdoors. I thought he might appreciate a heat pad as he sometimes prefers to sleep on the couch at night.

The CISNO Pet Safe Heating Pad is a great item for pets that need a little extra comfort, especially short haired dogs like my Solaire, toy and elderly dogs and for cats as well.

The unit is about the right size for a thirty pound dog like my Boston.

The pad plus into the wall and the charger attaches to the thermometer unit that goes from 25 to 55 which translates into a safe heat for your pet.

The heating element is in a thick plastic cover, which comes with a thin fleece acrylic type blue cover as well as the brown synthetic fleece cover, both of which are washable. I personally don't like the way the covers feel but I assume they transmit heat well.

The unit has a thick plastic black tubing to protect the thermostat cord attached to the pad. Solaire is not a chewer so I don't have worries about leaving him alone with this pad. If your pet is a chewer, then an electrical pad of any sort is a potential danger.

Solaire really doesn't enjoy the pad as much as I hoped and isn't really into sleeping on it, even with a cover. He's a sensitive dog with definite preferences on where he sleeps so your pet may feel differently and accept the pad immediately. Putting a favorite blanket over it definitely helps.

Minimalist Sling Style Tiny Backpack Review

I was given this cute little sling backpack for review and I was pleasantly surprised by its comfort and quality. I probably should've added footage of myself wearing it but I'm really self concious and I think you can get a feel for where it should sit on your body by looking at the bag itself.

It's mean to be worn as a roomier, more comfortable version of a fanny pack, so it's holding your necessities such as keys and a wallet and a phone. The shape is like a teardrop with a flat bottom to allow for items to settle and make room.

There's a small slash type pocket with zipper on the front for keys and a larger top zip in the center of the bag for your wallet or whatever you need to carry. You might be able to fit a water bottle and a small wallet inside. I found the fabric to be very noisy and crinkly but it also appears to be able to resist water and probably perspiration as well.

The zippers feel solid and the pull is nicely shaped for best grip. The seams look solid and I liked how the straps felt like they were curving with my shoulder and not cutting into it. You can wear it on your back or wear it on the front, so it's ideal for riding your bike or walking in crowds where you're concerned about theft. A quality little pack at an affordable price point!

AïKiou Activity Interactive Feeder Dog Puzzle Review

I love Boston Terriers, I think they're the most wonderful dog breed ever and I wish I found Bostons earlier in my decades of owning other bull and terrier breeds. Like the pit bull terrier breed they're derived from, Bostons have a wide variety of body variation and energy levels. Some Bostons are busy bees and reactive, some are mellow and sort of ummmm lazy like mine. All need some sort of mental stimulation and almost all are food motivated so in come the food puzzle toys.

This is what my Boston does for a large portion of the day, as we live in a third story apartment with only a large patio and few sidewalks or safe places that I can walk him and push my toddler in the stroller. We make do with a quick walk in the morning and a longer walk at night and in between we do a lot of fetch and Solaire helps pick up toys off the floor in exchange for a bit of treat. He can easily pick thirty small toys, crayons and trucks off the floor in almost a blink.

He's also overweight, as many Bostons are and as a majority of house dogs in general are. I feed him a raw diet with some table scraps, avoiding carbs, but we do have a toddler who snacks versus eats at the table so there's that issue. Using a food toy like this feeder puzzle by AiKiou helps slow down dogs who inhale their kibble to prevent bloat and possible choking as well as give their stomach time to fill up. Solaire isn't a gobbler but he is interested in using puzzles.

This feeder is fairly simple, just two lightweight plastic pieces with a lid that slides off when you line up the arrows. This makes it easy to clean and fill. It can even go in the dishwasher if you feel the need to sanitize it. I usually but shredded cheese in the feeder for my Boston.

The little Milk Bones are super cute though and I give them to my toddler to scoop and dump with his construction trucks.

Solaire uses both his face and his feet to spin the lid around and reveal the treats in the chambers. Unfortunately the openings are a bit too small for his flat wide muzzle, so he has problems reaching far enough in to pull out the treat. The recommended dog weight is up to forty five pounds on the box, but I think this is designed more for a small long muzzled dog like a Chihuahua, or terrier or Papillon or spaniel, someone who can fit their muzzle in to lick out the treat. You could make it super challenging by dabbing peanut butter in each chamber.

Here's my main issue with the AiKiou feeder: it isn't properly weighted to be used as a spinning top feeder! It feels like a light plastic dog bowl and even with the little feet on the base, it is still easy to flip when the dog gets excited or frustrated and ends up just skating all over the floor. The other brands of puzzles with spinning tops I've tried were much heavier, especially the wooden ones. Otherwise it should just have compartments on both sides to let the food fall out.
If you have a small dog who isn't a big chewer (mine isn't) and can fit its face into smallish squares, you might give this puzzle a try. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRJDPVM
