Pet Safe Heating Pad For This Crazy Cold Houston Winter!

This is one of the coldest Houston Christmases that I can remember. It's been at or below freezing at night and barely above freezing during the days, and super dark and just gross. My Boston Terrier is sleeping a lot more than usual and we aren't spending as much time outdoors. I thought he might appreciate a heat pad as he sometimes prefers to sleep on the couch at night.

The CISNO Pet Safe Heating Pad is a great item for pets that need a little extra comfort, especially short haired dogs like my Solaire, toy and elderly dogs and for cats as well.

The unit is about the right size for a thirty pound dog like my Boston.

The pad plus into the wall and the charger attaches to the thermometer unit that goes from 25 to 55 which translates into a safe heat for your pet.

The heating element is in a thick plastic cover, which comes with a thin fleece acrylic type blue cover as well as the brown synthetic fleece cover, both of which are washable. I personally don't like the way the covers feel but I assume they transmit heat well.

The unit has a thick plastic black tubing to protect the thermostat cord attached to the pad. Solaire is not a chewer so I don't have worries about leaving him alone with this pad. If your pet is a chewer, then an electrical pad of any sort is a potential danger.

Solaire really doesn't enjoy the pad as much as I hoped and isn't really into sleeping on it, even with a cover. He's a sensitive dog with definite preferences on where he sleeps so your pet may feel differently and accept the pad immediately. Putting a favorite blanket over it definitely helps.
